Dr. Wells offers one of the most advanced techniques in plastic surgery and medical aesthetics today called Fractional Laser Resurfacing.
The laser is an amazingly effective tool to treat aging skin. It smoothes fine line and wrinkles, tightens loose skin and treats a multitude of skin surface anomalies such as pigment irregularities (brown spots) and improves structural damage caused by chronic sun exposure.
We offer two types of Fractional Laser Resurfacing procedures – Non-Ablative and Ablative:
Non-Ablative
Non-ablative Fractional Laser Resurfacing involves the use of a non-damaging fractional laser to deliver energy to the middle and upper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production in these layers, creating a smooth, even-toned and even-textured surface. When used in tandem with Ulthera skin tightening technology, it treats all three layers of the skin leading to the foundation for 3-D Skin Refabrication. There is no downtime with this procedure.
Ablative
The Ablative Fractional Laser Resurfacing procedure involves even more effective resurfacing of the skin but has some down time. It is generally utilized in conjunction with either a facelift or eyelid lift surgery. However, it could be performed independent of surgery if Dr. Wells recommends that the desired outcome can be attained.
Prior to the Ablative Fractional Laser resurfacing procedure, the skin is “pre-conditioned” to enable predictable healing. During the procedure, you are completely sedated and do not feel the laser. The laser uses light energy to remove the surface layer of skin and shrink the deeper layers, thereby tightening loose skin. Surprisingly, the results of the laser continue to improve the skin for six to nine months, as the healing process brings renewed collagen to the skin’s foundation.
Immediately following the procedure, the skin’s surface has a moist appearance. However, this is gradually replaced by soft skin within seven to ten days. After one to two weeks, the skin returns to its normal condition. Patients are provided with effective topical products during this period and can expect to resume their social calendar in about two weeks.
The final outcome of a fractional laser resurfacing procedure is truly amazing and remarkable! The skin will take on a younger, fresher and tighter appearance.
